UP AND COMING ARTIST RAT BOY STORMS TO SUCCESS

It seems only 5 minutes ago that Jordan Cardy (aka Rat Boy) posted his first single 'sign on' onto soundcloud and released his first music video following on from his various mixtapes all made on his second hand iMac in his own small room in Essex , and in this past year, he seems to have exploded in popularity as now there isn't an indie about who doesn't know his name. After recently winning a NME award for Best New Artist and touring around the country on the NME awards tour, it seems there is nothing that Jordan Cardy and his trusty scum squad cannot do.

As well as this, due to the dedication and persistence of his fans and how quickly his recent gigs have been selling out, Cardy has decided, as always with the support of his band members and best friends Liam Haygarth, Noah Booth and Harry Todd, to do their own 6 date tour around the UK before the release of their debut album in August. With 4 dates being sold out already, there is no wonder as to Rat Boy's ever-growing fame and popularity which every aspiring 'scum' is ecstatic about, showing their love on instagram and twitter by commenting things like "sick" and "noice" in their signature scummy way of showing appreciation.

However, despite this aggressive and rebellious front Cardy puts up, coming from experience of meeting him twice (most recently at his gig at Heaven, London) his soft caring personality shines through and we instantly see a different side to him when meeting fans: shy and reserved as he hands out stickers to the first lot of teens who are released from the freezing cold and let into the venue. In spite of this, this doesn't mean that his gigs are at any point calm or reserved, as if you attend one of them you will no doubt find yourself sandwiched in between other sweaty teens dancing your heart out -  and if your lucky only falling over twice in the insane moshes.

Listen to Rat Boy's most recent single 'move' and watch the awesome animated music video here:  RAT BOY - MOVE and trust me if you are a new listener, it does not disappoint.
