REVIEW OF CHASTITY BELT'S SINGLE 'CAUGHT IN A LIE'

When Washington born band Chastity Belt released their first single 'Different Now' taken off their forthcoming album 'I Used To Spend So Much Time Alone' I felt like a proud mum. After watching them kick out their debut album 'No Regrets' in 2013, featuring tracks such as 'Black Sail' and 'Seattle Party' and already showing signs of shattering female ideologies. I now feel like they have blossomed into an exquisite, tightly-formed alt-rock band, and if you need any evidence then look no further than their latest release 'Caught In a Lie.'

  Chastity Belt present themselves as the type of gals who don't make a fuss, they don't need fancy synths or electronics in order to make a killer track, instead their simple ensemble of your traditional four piece, fit together like a jigsaw, making this new generation of the band the strongest. 'Caught In a Lie' uses a soothing riff throughout accompanied by a slightly distorted guitar and a snare-happy drum beat, the heartfelt cries pf Julia Snaprion shouting 'Is this who you want me to be?' Pull on any listener's fragile heart strings.
