01. Cruel Ways - Drowners
As we've already posted a review on this track before, it just had to be a part of our march playlist. With "Cruel Ways" Drowners do not only return after releasing their debut and selftitled album in 2014, but also make you question what good music means. Read our full review on "Cruel Ways" here.
02. Where The Light Gets In - Primal Scream (ft. Sky Ferreira)
For Primal Scream's new album 'Chaosmosis' the scottish band did not only collabrate with the HAIM sister on a track, but also teamed up with american pop artist Sky Ferreira to make this album full of women power in the music business. Sky Ferreira, who released her debut album "Night Time My Time" in 2013, started working on her sophomore album "Masochism" after going on tour with friend Miley Cyrus in 2014, and said anticipated album apparently is going to (finally!) be released this summer.
03. Next Of Kin - Alvvays
And once again we have some women's power on this track of the playlist. Alvvays is a band of five that has its origin in Toronto, Canada and released their selftitled debut album back in 2014. With currently being on tour with Tame Impala or CHVRCHES, having just finished a small Australian tour and playing festivals like Coachella, their dreamy indie pop sound obviously impresses globally.
04. The Way The Wind Blows - GUFRA
This song is so brand new, it couldn't be brand new-er. No, but seriously. The band posted it onto their soundcloud just yesterday, and I instantly knew it had to be a part of this playlist. It's that kind of song you listen to when the sun sets and you know that summer isn't so far anymore, and it's definitely worth for you to check it out. GUFRA are a band for you to keep in mind, I'm pretty sure this will not be the last time you've heard of them, their potential is huge.
05. Nodding Off - Wavves (ft. Best Coast)
Wavves and Best Coast. Best Coast and Wavves. It's more than a fact that these two brilliant bands really go together. After going on tour together for the second time just this year, they have already been collaborating frequently and released a split single earlier this year through a subscription of Wavves' label Ghostramp.
06. The Wild - Model Aeroplanes
Another March release. With 'Something Like Heaven' Model Aeroplanes finally got their highly anticipated debut EP out there. But that doesn't mean they're completly new to the business - the 2013 formed band had already released a handful of singles that have been doing pretty good, for example "Deep In The Pool", and they have more than stage experience - and most likely a great future ahead of them.
07. Gimme The Love - Jake Bugg
And here it is. Last month it was Jake Bugg who kept us curious about what that new sound was going to be like (Read: Jake Bugg's Smashing Comeback), and not long ago he premiered this 'new sound' to us with new single "Gimme The Love", which is more upbeat and radio friendly than any other song of him, whilst previously released song "On My One" has more of his old, acoustic sound. We are excited and curious what the new album is going to sound like as a whole, but with "Gimme The Love" getting released we're pretty sure it's full of surprises.
08. Know One - Circa Waves
Let's end this month's playlist with an unreleased from one of my favorite bands, Circa Waves. After touring various places, Circa Waves are known for being a fantastic live band with a strong connection to their fans. The band only just released their debut album "Young Chasers" last year, and are already working on their forthcoming album. If you are among those who can not wait for the new album, try to keep an eye out for Circa Waves' 7" release of "Something Like You" and an unreleased demo version of "Young Chasers" on Record Store Day 2016.
