Summer is close approaching and I think we all know what that means - festival season will soon be upon us; and with various amazing line-ups being released recently, there is contemplation running through all of our minds about what festival(s) to attend this year of 2016. As a typical indie kid myself, living in England is a dream for festival line-ups, with Reading and Leeds, Truck and T in the Park. There is nothing better at a typical British festival having beer and various other unidentified liquids thrown over you in the insanely big crowds and being neck deep in mud in the fields. Very different to American festivals such as Coachella I can tell you that much.
I have rounded up a list of (in my opinion with my music taste) the best festival line-ups for 2016 to share with you all and to hopefully help you decide on what one to attend yourself:
6/
FIB - BENICASSIM / SPAIN
In terms of foreign festivals and this being quite a small line-up so far, it is quite impressive in terms of diversity of bands. Kendrick Jamar and Bloc Party on the same day... unusual combination but I like to think it works.
With Muse not doing many festivals this year as well, this is a real pull factor towards this festival due to the rarity of this bands performances. Overall, including many popular indie bands and a lot of mainstream DJ this is a stellar lineup catering to people with many different music tastes.
5/
FIREFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL - THE WOODLANDS OF DOVER / UK
With Catfish and the Bottlemen, Swim Deep, The 1975, Tame Impala, Two Door Cinema Club, Circa Waves and many more there is no wonder as to why this is on my list. It's rare to find a festival with a line-up this big and even more rare to find one with a line-up this good. Mixtures of pure summer hits from Circa Waves and TDCC and then the beautiful new meaningful tunes from the 1975 what could go wrong? Perfect feel good summer line-up for the devoted festival lover.

LOLLAPALOOZA - (tour around 6 counties)
Unusual as it sounds (but bloody amazing) this festival with this amazing line-up is touring around 6 different countries which, you would think, would give you an opportunity to go, but however not for many as the six locations are Chicago/ USA, Berlin/Germany, Bogota/Columbia, Sau Paulo/ Brazil, Santiago/Chile and Buenos Aires/Argentina. Unfortunately leaving us Brits and alot more unable to attend. And with each line-up being slightly different, this just adds the list of things that are different and unique about this festival.
The best out of the six line-ups, in my opinion, is Chicago, which seems to be one of the best I've seen from Lollapalooza. With all of my favourite bands like The 1975, Foals, The Last Shadow Puppets, Years and Years and so many more, there's no wonder as to why the tickets are sold out! With 8 different stages separating out all of these amazing bands and artists there will never be nothing to do and nothing to see.
3/
V FESTIVAL - HIGHLANDS PARK/ WESTON PARK
Not being a huge fan of this genre of music I have to say I am rather impressed with this years line-up, I mean not many typical little (well not very little at all) pop music festivals in Chelmsford can book Justin Bieber when lets be honest, he hardly turns up for his own tours let alone festivals. With Rihanna and Little Mix there is no surprise as to why the tickets sold out in not even 5 minutes. Celebrating their 21st birthday, V wanted to make this year line-up better than ever, and to a pop fan this couldn't get much better. Smaller artists such as Years & Years and Jake Bugg just top this off making it one of the best well-known line-ups out there.
2/
T IN THE PARK - STRATHALLAN CASTLE / PERTHSHIRE, SCOTLAND
As far as festival line-ups go, this has got to be the best one so far catering to my music taste. Its very rare to see The Stone Roses doing gigs these days let alone festivals, and with the Courteeners, it's times like these I wish I lived in Scotland. Managing to get The 1975 AND Catfish and the Bottlemen AND The Last Shadow Puppets on the SAME day, they did good lets put it that way. I personally think that the mix of Jamie xx, Disclosure and Calvin Harris, which would appeal to more of the dance lovers out there, with the more older indie bands, makes this festival appeal to anyone regardless about their music taste which is why there isn't really many bands I wouldn't be psyched about seeing at this festival.
1/
TRUCK - HILL FARM, OXFORDSHIRE / UK
This year, all of the annual devoted lovers of this tiny little festival have had a shock surprise none of them thought was coming, tickets have been selling twice as fast as last year... and now it seems there isn't a person contemplating which festival to go to who hasn't checked out truck. Also, with weekend camping tickets being priced at only £86.50, wait... did I read that correctly? I mustn't have.. yep that's right, only £86.50 for 3 whole days seeing all these incredible massive bands! With all recent CATB tours selling out in 2 minutes and willing fans buying tickets for £100, what's not to love?! Everyone wants to (finally) get a taster of CATB, Manic Street Preachers (amazing band), Circa Waves, Beach Baby, The Magic Gang AND more to be announced all in the space of 3 days. In my opinion, one of the best festival line-ups in have probably ever seen. Better grab your tickets fast indie kids!
