Marika Hackman has released the first single taken from her second album 'I'm Not Your Man' and already the sense of a highly anticipating album emerges.
"I've got your boyfriend on my mind" The first line of the single 'Boyfriend' introduces a seductive love triangle through the use of Hackman's catchy guitar riffs and whistful voice. A dream like melody guides us through the confession of love and into the pre - chorus.
A muted strum introduces us to the pre-chorus, which gradually gets louder and produces the ups and downs of the ecstatic chorus.
From Hackman's latest single it seems that she is well on her way to indie royality, with the dawn of her second album soon approaching more and more information is being released, like indie babes The Big Moon playing on one of the tracks.
